Hey, what's up my honey bunnies, hope you are doing well and staying safe. I'm back with a new post! It's been a hot minute since I last posted and I know a lot has happened in the world, e.i a global pandemic. In the beginning, I was not doing good depression & anxiety hit hard so of course, I wasn't wearing makeup. Still not wearing much of it but I have started to feel like myself again so, I'm back to making videos and reviews about beauty.

Today I'm reviewing the new foundation from Exa Beauty, you can watch this review in video form here. Video reviews can be more helpful because you can see the product in action. I know most of us arent wearing much makeup let alone foundation due to having to wear a mask, but for those that are interested in this foundation here is my review.

Exa Beauty is a new brand created by Credo Beauty a beauty retailer that offers natural beauty brands. They created Exa Beauty in efforts to make inclusivity a thing in the green beauty community which as you may already know is almost nonexisting. There aren't many brands being inclusive or representing POC. Most natural foundation lines don't offer shades for people of darker complexion. Exa is trying to change that. That is the main reason why I was drawn to this company. Not only are they pushing for inclusivity but their product is eco friendly as possible keeping in mind our Planet and the future. Really love what they stand for and because of that, they have my support.

They currently only offer foundation and a primer but hope they will release more makeup in the future. I was ecstatic about this new foundation so I ordered the foundation and the primer to test out. Haven't tried the primer because I was more interested in the foundation.

First, let's talk about what the claims are, this foundation comes in 43 beautiful shades, its vegan, cruelty-free, natural, gluten-free, and eco-conscious. Retails for $38 for a 1.1 fl oz glass bottle with a pump. Here's a quote from their site,

"Protective microalgae actives, soothing maqui berry and hydrating hyaluronic acid team up with advanced pigment technology that doesn’t oxidize—keeping color vibrant and true just. like. you. Super-charged anti-pollution actives shield against free radicals and urban pollution so you can safely power and play all day."

I ordered shade Seb 290 and it is one of the best shades of foundation I have tried this far. It literally melts into my skin and matches perfectly. Was very impressed, to say the least. As soon as I swatched it I knew I was gonna love it.

My Pros:

The way this foundation blends into my skin is amazing, and the shade is the perfect undertone and color for my skin tone. It looks natural, covers my redness, and evens out my skin tone while still letting my skin peek through. It feels lightweight, moisturizing, and I don't feel covered up which is what I always want in foundations. It plays well with other makeup products whether they are cream or powder. Wears long and well, didn't break apart or separate around my chin or nose. It held up great after a long 9 hour day, with or without setting it. Very happy that it doesn't break me out and I'm happy with the ingredients. Lastly, based on the ingredients it looks like the foundation isn't scented with anything so its very pleasant to wear.

My Cons:

This isn't a con for me but has to be mentioned, the finish of the foundation is quite dewy and looked very shiny a few hours after applying it. It is a foundation that I need to set with powder to prevent getting so shiny. Honestly would not recommend it to someone who has very oily skin or anyone that doesn't like dewy products. But for anyone with dry skin who loves a natural medium coverage base I'm sure you will love this.

Overall I absolutely love this foundation and can say that its a winner for me. From what the brand stands for to the product itself, it's 10/10, two thumbs up, chef's kiss, etc.

I would recommend checking out their shade range and picking up one of their sample packs if you are struggling with picking a shade. I know it can be hard to pick a shade on line. The sample packs are $5 and come in different shade varieties, try before committing to a full size.
