My Top Favorite Vegan & Natural Shampoos
Sometimes you gotta kiss a few frogs before finding the perfect match, especially when it comes to natural beauty products. Which brings up the topic of natural hair care. I have struggled with finding the right formula that my scalp, hair and I love. In this post, I share with you the few natural & semi-natural shampoos that have worked for me.
First, let me tell you the type of hair and scalp I have. My hair is thin, flat and my scalp is very sensitive, itchy, flaky and yet oily. I know it makes no sense but that's my hair type. When I started my natural journey, I was desperately trying to find a shampoo that would help with my scalp issues and replace the non-vegan, not natural, animal testing brand of shampoo I was using. I tried so many natural brands and most were too heavy for my hair or didn't help with my scalp issues at all. Fast forward to a couple years, I'm happy to report that I finally found a couple shampoos that work for me!
DermOrganic is the first hair care line that I tried after deciding to switch to vegan & natural products and the one I have used the longest out the ones in this post. This brand uses argan oil (along with other ingredients of course) which is one of the best oils for hair. I do want to mention that although this brand is not 100% natural they are free from lots of harsh & synthetic ingredients. But some of their products contain fragrance just in case that's a deal breaker for you. I've tried their Daily Conditioning line and the Color Care, both are great but I do prefer the Daily Conditioning. The Color Care formula although did keep my color treated hair from fading faster, was a bit too light on my scalp and I felt like it didn't clean like the Daily Conditioning shampoo did. The Daily Conditioning line kept my scalp happy, made my hair uber soft. I'm not sure why but it made my hair grow a bit faster which it doesn't claim to do, but I was for sure happy about it. Overall great shampoo that didn't irritate my scalp but didn't really help much with my dandruff. DermOrganic can be found on their website, some of their products are on Vitacost for a cheaper price, and also Amazon.

Glossy Locks is part of 100% Pure, which I'm a huge fan of. Been using their Grow More shampoo for about 2 years now and my hair & scalp love it. The shampoo works great to clean my scalp without over drying it or leaving any residue behind. It has a minty fresh scent perfect in the mornings for a cooling sensation that will surely wake you up. Although the name says grow more, I honestly didn't see any difference with my hair growing more or faster but I do love this formula and didn't have any issues with it.

Scalp Rescue shampoo from Max Green Alchemy is one that I found last year. Out of all of the ones featured on this post, it works the best for my scalp. This whole line is intended for people with skin issues like psoriasis, eczema, dermatitis and more. With natural botanical & vegan ingredients that soothe your scalp. This formula is truly a great match for people who have any scalp/skin issues. I will say that the scent is not my favorite, it smells fresh but also like lemongrass which I'm not a fan of, but since it works so good I try to not let the scent be a deal breaker for me. You can find this on their website or on Amazon.

The Scalp Relief shampoo from DermaE is the most recent shampoo I have tried and the most affordable out of all them, only $11.75! This formula is also meant for people with some scalp issues. Has a minty scent that really refreshes my scalp, it honestly feels amazing especially if you suffer from an irritated itchy scalp. This shampoo also de flakes, so the first week I used it, it loosened up any dandruff I had. So for that whole week, I had lots of flakes lifting and falling but after that was gone my scalp was pretty much dandruff free for the time I used it.
Alright, those are all of the natural and semi-natural shampoos that have worked for me. Of course, I would recommend and will repurchase for sure! Let me know what is your favorite shampoo or hairline in general.
