Natural, Cruelty Free & Vegan Sunscreens
Summer is here and its time to start using sunscreen. Unfortunately, lots of conventional sunscreens are full of nasty ingredients not only bad for you but for the Earth and the animals. I highly suggest you Google some of the ingredients listed on the back of your sunscreen bottles. You will be shocked to learn that most are very bad. Ingredients such as Oxybenzone is one of the most used active ingredients in conventional sunscreens and rates very high on the EWG website, an 8!!! Read more about sunscreen chemicals here. FYI some of these are not 100% natural but some are and others are way safer than conventional sunscreens.
"So, what should you do?" After you educate yourself about which toxic ingredients to avoid, research natural sunscreens that contain active ingredients such as Zinc Oxide and Titanium Dioxide. Luckily green beauty has become very popular which has made it easier to find healthier options. I will share my top favorite safe, cruelty-free & vegan sunscreens with you, hopefully, you will find one that works for you.
Let's get STARTED!!!
If you are looking for a sunscreen that is easy and mess free, then this is the one for you. Maybe you got kids and you want something that is quick to apply so that you can have more time in the water. This mist will provide you with UVA & UVB protection, it's a lightweight, not sticky or greasy, sinks in fast and still gives 80 minutes of protection like other conventional sunscreens. The Yerba Mate in this sunscreen has antioxidants that protect against free radicals and environmental pollutants, pretty awesome right!
If unique, innovative, all natural and crazy good is what you want, then this powder is it. This powder is beyond amazing because not only is it natural, but also made with the highest grade ingredients. It can be mixed with any of your favorite facial oils, moisturizer, body lotions, foundation etc. Ava the owner of EWB is a miracle worker, she always surpasses my expectations with her creations. She didn't disappoint with Farizad's Veil. My favorite part about this is that it blends into anything, lightweight, and great under makeup. Finely milled which means its is very smooth no chunky, gritty powder here. Please go read the full description on the EWB website for more info. Only a few ingredients are used to create this product, one of them is non-nano zinc oxide, one of the safest ingredients in sunscreens. I love mixing this with a couple of my favorite facial oils, even with an all over bronzer. It's fun for me to find other ways to use this, I have also heard from one of my blogger friends Erin over at CrueltyFreCutie on IG and Youtube has dusted it on her kid's face!

This one is a sheer mineral lotion. Also very natural, reef safe, vegan, made in the USA, non-GMO, biodegradable, and contains organic ingredients. The active ingredients are both Titanium Dioxide & Zinc Oxide, yay! Love that it's moisturizing, it does leave a slight (I mean very minimal) white cast but I really don't mind it, since it does blend in nicely into the skin. I know I'm not hurting the reefs or marine life when I'm in the ocean while having it on because it's reef safe! That is my favorite part about this sunscreen. Many people don't know that the toxic ingredients not only hurt our bodies but it also contaminates the oceans, reefs, and marines life. I really suggest you look for reef safe sunscreens. Let's keep our marine life safe so that future generations are able to witness their beauty.
They also have other SPF products such as a sport, daily lotions, kids sunscreens and seven spray bottle options, check all of their products and get them cheaper here.
Now this one is also amazing under makeup, its super lightweight, and sinks in quick without leaving a greasy or oily residue. Love the way it smells too, like jolly ranchers! A sunscreen and moisturizer in one. Has ingredients that not only protect but also soothe the skin. Also has UVA/UVB protection, it feel so light that it's hard to believe it a sunscreen!
Now on to some lip balms with SPF.
This lip balm is amazing can be used on dry lips, dry elbows, or on any dry patches you might have, I have also heard people using it for their under eyes, to make gel eyeliner, cuticle oil etc. It has many uses! It's great to use on almost anything because it is odorless and tasteless. The cool part about this is that the plant oils and waxes provide an SPF of 8. I love it because it really does help with my chapped lips and with the added SPF, it makes it perfect for summer.

The Sun balm is new to me but I have been reaching for it a lot. It smells so good, of tangerines & chamomile, yum! I got it in one of my Wellness Tribe boxes and love that it's meant to protect your lips while you are having fun under the sun, with SPF of 15. Moisturizing, yummy and perfect for summer yes, please.
Last but not least, I have a CC Cream with sunscreen.
This is by far my favorite CC cream. I know some people are not into it because of the strong scent but I really don't mind it. To me, the scent is not offensive, more like citrus. I love this so much because it is a great base for loose powder foundation. If I use loose powder foundation without something under, it makes my skin very dry. This CC cream is moisturizing, gives light coverage and the SPF of 30 is perfect for a beach day. It's also my go to "beach makeup" makeup product besides waterproof mascara. Like I said it does not give much coverage, but I love that it doesn't because thankfully I don't have much to cover.
These are my top healthier sunscreens, hope you found this post helpful and of course that you make the switch to safer products. Don't forget to apply sunscreen on every inch of your body that is exposed to the sun, and of course, to reapply.
Thanks so much for stopping by.
